Dear Juno or any other teenager in the same situation,
My name is Sophia and I am a senior at Foothill Technology High School, and I have the utmost respect for your decision and I have a few words to say about the choice you made. First of all, I just want to say that I am pro-choice but I could never abort my own child myself. I believe a woman has the right to chose along with the Roe v. Wade decision, which was about the 14th Amendment (the right to privacy). I'm very proud of what you did in the situation that you were in.
But on the other hand, I think you could have been more responsible when you and Bleeker engaged in sex. You and Bleeker could have planned this ahead (if you were serious about it) and avoided a pregnancy. Both of you could of bought the protection you needed such as condoms and birth control which you can buy from a pharmacy.
If I were in the same condition as you were, I would most likely do the same thing you did. I would think about having an abortion but could never go through with it, carry the baby to term, and give it to a family (or in your case someone) who is ready (mature, responsible, and financially/emotionally stable) and wanting to have a baby. I thought it was very kind-hearted of you to give the baby to Vannesa after what had happened with her husband, Mark, not being able to be a good father in the end. I also loved how your whole family was supportive of you and with the decision you chose.
Anyways, what happened has happened and I believe you made the right decision for yourself. I wish you the best of luck! :)
